Production Assistant Internship
Civic Series
Started in 2015, Civic Series (http://civicseries.org) is a non-partisan, volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps people understand and think for themselves about the most critical issues of our time. We are developing a pilot podcast series and is seeking a Production Assistant as a part-time internship.
Working closely with the Host and Producers, the Production Assistant will:
- Schedule interviews with guests and conduct interview prep (i.e. issue research and developing questions)
- Coordinate and assist in recording of podcast episodes (i.e. manage and moderate Facebook Live sessions, monitor and help ensure quality recordings)
- Develop promotional materials and social media posts
- Support in podcast post-production efforts (i.e. managing transcription, fact checking completed episodes, writing show notes)
- Other tasks as they arise
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Event management and social media experience
- Passion for bipartisan learning and engagement; civic engagement, news media, journalism, and/or public education
- Strong interest in learning about podcast production
- Experience with producing media or running webinars is a major plus
This is a paid ($13/hour), part-time (5-7 hours/week) internship that runs for the spring semester 2020. Work can be conducted remotely but we have a strong preference for candidates in Philadelphia or Boston.
